Michael Jackson family to announce 'thriller' of concert tribute

Members of Michael Jackson’s family have called a press conference for Monday in Beverly Hills to announce a concert tribute to the late pop star that will benefit charities in the U.S. and the United Kingdom.

Jackson’s mother, Katherine, will be joined at the Beverly Hills Hotel by his siblings Marlon, Tito, Jackie and LaToya to reveal details of the tribute, with strong hints in the press release that it will focus on Jackson’s “Thriller” album. The press release issued Thursday referred to the concert as a "thriller of an event," which is being coordinated by the family members and promoter Global Live Events, not Jackson's estate.

A spokeswoman for the event said no other information is available until Monday’s press conference. Pop & Hiss will carry more details after the announcement.

Ich denke mal ,dass die Jacksons dieses sogenannte "tribute" (mal wieder) als Geldquelle benutzen werden ,denn
schließlich ist Thriller zeitlos und damit lässt sicher sicher auch noch in 50 Jahren viel Geld machen ...
Schade nur ,dass Katherine sich beteiligt ...Ich hatte gedacht sie unterstützt Michael ,und "benutzt" ihn nicht nur für Geld ...

Marlon, Tito, Jackie.....das hört sich doch ziemlich solide an!
Und La Toya tritt endlich als Thriller-Girl auf, was ja Michael damals fürs Original eigentlich auch gewollt haben soll und was leider an irgendeinem Hindernis gescheitert ist.

Dass Jackie mit von der Partie ist, könnte als Zeichen gewertet werden, dass die Nachlassverwalter wenn sie auch nicht direkt Mitveranstalter sind, so aber doch auch keine Einwände gegen das Vorhaben erheben. (?)


Die Namen der Wohltätigkeitsorganisationen interessieren mich. Vielleicht werden sie am Montag bekanntgegeben.

für die einen ist es Tribut und es ist schön, dass Michaels Musik am Leben bleibt und das Leute es für wichtig erachten, solche Dinge anzuleiern und für andere ist
es schnöde Geldmacherei......
Dem Verdacht muss sich jeder aussetzen, der Michaels Musik anpackt. Sollte es deshalb jeder lassen?

Ich brauche keinen Tribut, mir reichte das Original, kann mit anderen Dingen wenig anfangen.
Aber nicht jeder kannte das Original auf der Bühne und hat es gesehen.
Und... ist nicht der tot, der vergessen ist... oder wie war das??

Naja, vllt. klappts ja diesmal (Jermaine scheints nicht mitzumachen, gibt Hoffnung)
und hoffentlich interessiert sich überhaupt jemand dafür.
Ich hab gehört, viele viele dieser Wahnsinnsperformer wollen keine Connections mit Jacksons. Wer wollte es ihnen verübeln.

Eins steht fest , es ist nicht MICHAEL , der auf der Bühne steht bzw.tanzt.Es ist nur eine Frage des Geldes bei den Leuten,egal wer es ist.Ob Familymitglieder
oder nicht.

Wenn ich mir so Christines Auflistung ansehe und auch das jetzt geplante Konzert (oder wirds ne Welttournee?) ansehe fällt mir auf, dassnie irgendwo der "legendäre Konzertpromoter" Leonard Rowe mitspielen durfte.
Vielleicht ist ja deshalb nie was draus geworden....kann ja sein.

Ich meine: Da er ja nach Aussage von Joe Jackson und ihm selbst bis zum letzten Lebenstag Michaels in dessen Diensten gestanden ist und auch für ihn höchstwahrscheinlich eine Menge Geldes in den Wind geschrieben war am 25.6.09 wäre es doch eigentlich folgerichtig gewesen, wenn er das mit dem Promoten eines Tributs ein klein wenig entschädigt worden wäre. Zumal ja eine jahrzehntelange Freundschaft und Vertrauensbasis zwischen Joe + Katherine und Rowe besteht.

Was könnten dafür wohl die Gründe sein?
