Michael Jackson
Drug-Induced Rambling:
"I Had No Childhood"
Michael Jackson wanted to dedicate his "This Is It" concerts to his children -- and in a heartbreaking conversation Dr. Conrad Murray recorded weeks before the singer died, MJ claims, "I love them because I didn't have a childhood."
You can hear MJ's voice in the recording -- slurred, incoherent -- explaining how he wanted to outdo The Beatles and Elvis with his final concerts, and go down in history as the greatest entertainer who ever lived.
Michael becomes extremely emotional while speaking about his children -- claiming, "I had no childhood. I feel their pain. I feel their hurt."
Murray recorded the conversation on his iPhone on Sunday May 10th, 2009 at 9:05 AM. It's unclear why -- but according to prosecutors, it documents MJ under the influence of "unknown agents." It also shows Murray was familiar with Michael in altered states of mind.
At one point in the clip, Murray asks Michael if he's okay -- and Michael responds, "I am asleep."
The recording -- a clip of which Prosecutor David Walgren played during his opening statement -- was uncovered by investigators after they seized Murray's device.

The trial of Michael Jackson’s doctor reached another emotional peak Wednesday as jurors heard Jackson say, “I hurt, you know, I hurt.”
'I hurt,' Michael Jackson says 6 weeks before death
By Alan Duke, CNN
October 5, 2011 -- Updated 2338 GMT (0738 HKT)
Los Angeles (CNN) -- The trial of Michael Jackson's doctor reached another emotional peak Wednesday as jurors heard a recording of Jackson, using slow and slurred speech, telling Dr. Conrad Murray, "I hurt, you know, I hurt."
A photograph of Jackson lying dead on a hospital gurney was later projected onto a large screen in the courtroom, a vivid reminder to jurors of why they will listen to a least a month of testimony in Dr. Murray's involuntary manslaughter trial.
While the court camera feed focused on the disturbing image for just five seconds -- the result of a earlier decision to minimize public exposure to such shocking images -- it was displayed on a large screen in front of the jury for about two minutes.
Forensic computer expert Stephen Marx, who found the audio file on Murray's iPhone, said it was recorded on May 10, 2009, when Jackson was preparing for his "This Is It" concerts set for London two months later.
A slurring Jackson heard on recording Dr. Murray: Ladies' man or medicine man? Propofol not a controlled substance Sales rep says Murray raised 'red flag'
Prosecutors, who played a clip of the stunning audio in their opening statement last week, let the jury hear the entire recording in Murray's involuntary manslaughter trial Wednesday.
"Elvis didn't do it. Beatles didn't do it. We have to be phenomenal," Jackson said. "When people leave this show, when people leave my show, I want them to say, 'I've never seen nothing like this in my life. Go. Go. I've never seen nothing like this. Go. It's amazing. He's the greatest entertainer in the world.' I'm taking that money, a million children, children's hospital, the biggest in the world, Michael Jackson Children's Hospital. Going to have a movie theater, game room."
In the portion never before heard in court, Jackson talked about his life and concern for children:
"Children are depressed. The -- in those hospitals, no game room, no movie theater. They're sick because they're depressed. Their mind is depressing them. I want to give them that. I care about them, them angels. God wants me to do it. God wants me to do it. I'm going to do it, Conrad."
Another voice, which the prosecutor said was Murray's, is heard saying, "I know you would."
"Don't have enough hope, no more hope," Jackson said. "That's the next generation that's going to save our planet, starting with -- we'll talk about it. United States, Europe, Prague, my babies. They walk around with no mother. They drop them off, they leave -- a psychological degradation of that. They reach out to me: 'Please take me with you.'"
At the end, Jackson said he was "going to do that for them."
DEA examiner describes iPhone analysis Coroner: No obvious cause of death
"That will be remembered more than my performances. My performances will be up there helping my children and always be my dream. I love them. I love them because I didn't have a childhood. I had no childhood. I feel their pain. I feel their hurt. I can deal with it. 'Heal the World,' 'We Are the World,' 'Will You Be There,' 'The Lost Children.' These are the songs I've written because I hurt, you know, I hurt."
His brother Jermaine Jackson wiped tears from his eyes as he listened in court.
Deputy District Attorney David Walgren said in his opening statement that Jackson was "highly under the influences of unknown agents" when Murray recorded Jackson.
Another recording found on Murray's phone and played in court Wednesday was a voice mail from Frank Dileo, who was Jackson's last manager.
Dileo's message to Murray, left five days before Jackson's death, suggested that he "get a blood test" from Jackson because "we've got to see what he's doing."
He referred to "an episode" Jackson had at a rehearsal the night before. "He's sick," Dileo said.
Concert producer Kenny Ortega testified about Jackson's illness in the first day of the trial, which he wrote about in an e-mail sent about the same time Dileo was leaving his phone message.
"He appeared quite weak and fatigued this evening," Ortega wrote. "He had a terrible case of the chills, was trembling, rambling and obsessing. Everything in me says he should be psychologically evaluated."
Jurors should also soon hear the full recording of Murray's interview with Los Angeles police two days after Jackson's death.
Murray's iPhone also contained e-mail attachments that appeared to be Jackson's medical records sent by Murray's office assistant to the doctor, who was gathering them for a British insurance agent who was arranging cancellation insurance for Jackson's London concerts.
The insurers were concerned about news reports that Jackson was seen "at various times using a wheelchair" and that he suffered a back injury, lupus, emphysema and cancer, according to an e-mail from the agent to the doctor.
Jackson refused to authorize the release of his medical records to the insurance company, Murray wrote back, but he added concerning the news reports of illnesses "let me say they're all fallacious to the best of my knowledge."
One record shown in court, kept under the alias "Omar Arnold," indicated that in September 2008, Murray diagnosed Jackson with insomnia and anxiety.
Files from the phone suggest Murray was dealing with the insurance agent's request around the same time he said he was struggling to help Jackson go to sleep with sedatives.
The prosecution wants to show jurors that Murray was distracted by a long list of phone calls and e-mails, causing him to neglect Jackson, who stopped breathing and died.
Los Angeles County Coroner's investigator Elissa Fleak testified Wednesday afternoon, showing jurors what she collected from Jackson's bedroom.
Fleak identified a saline bag that was cut open and an empty 100 ml propofol bottle inside. The prosecution alleges Murray used it as a makeshift IV drip to administer propofol to Jackson. The defense contends Murray gave Jackson just 25 ml of the drug and used a syringe to push it in.
Twelve bottles of the surgical anesthetic propofol were found in the bedroom during her first search the day Jackson died, including an empty vial found on the floor next to the bed, Fleak said.
Seven bottles of medications were on a nightstand next to the bed, including one with lorazepam pills prescribed by Murray to Jackson.
Murray's defense lawyers say Jackson caused his own death by swallowing eight lorazepam pills and orally ingesting propofol while Murray was out of the room.
The coroner ruled that Jackson's death on June 25, 2009, was the result of "acute propofol intoxication" in combination with sedatives.
Prosecutors argue that Murray, who was Jackson's personal doctor as he prepared for planned comeback concerts, is criminally responsible for the singer's death because of medical negligence and his reckless use of the propofol to help Jackson sleep.
Earlier Wednesday, a medical supply sales representative testified that a Murray assistant "raised a red flag" by asking that she ship an infusion IV set to a California residence, not his clinic.
Seacoast Medical rep Sally Hirschberg testified that she refused the request and instead sent the supplies, which were apparently recovered from Jackson's bedroom by investigators, to one of Murray's clinics.
Murray trial: No fist fights here
Tuesday's testimony by the trio of Murray's girlfriends also delivered drama.
Cocktail waitress Sade Anding, who dated Murray after they met at a Houston steakhouse where she worked, described a phone call from Murray that prosecutors suggest is evidence of when the doctor realized there was a problem with Jackson.
Five or six minutes into the call, which began at 11:51 a.m. the day Jackson died, Anding realized that Murray was not listening to her.
"I said 'Hello, hello, are you there?' " Anding testified.
She said that when she pressed her cell phone against her ear, "I heard the mumbling of voices ... and I heard coughing, and nobody answered." Anding hung up the phone about three minutes later, she said.
The interruption, which prosecutors said was probably when Murray noticed his patient was not breathing, would have come around 11:57 a.m., about 10 minutes before the time chef Kai Chase said Murray ran down the stairs to ask her to call for help.
The prosecution says that one reason Murray is criminally responsible for Jackson's death is because phone calls and text messages to these women, other patients and employees at his clinics caused him to ignore his patient while administering dangerous drugs.
Nicole Alvarez, 29, who has a 2-year-old son fathered by Murray, delivered animated testimony Tuesday that suggested she was starstruck by Michael Jackson, whom she met several times with Murray.
"I was speechless when I met him," Alvarez testified. "I couldn't believe I was meeting Michael Jackson."
Her testimony was important because it was her apartment where a Las Vegas pharmacy shipped 255 bottles of propofol -- totaling more than four gallons -- and 80 bottles of liquid sedatives that prosecutors say Murray ordered for Jackson.
The prosecution also asked her about a phone call Murray placed to her from the ambulance while on the way to the hospital with Jackson.
"I remember him telling me that he was on the way to the hospital in the ambulance with Mr. Jackson and for me not to be alarmed," Alvarez said. "He didn't want me to be worried, because he knew I would learn this through the news."
On Monday, the emergency room doctor who declared Jackson dead testified that there was no way doctors could have revived the pop icon after he arrived at the hospital.
If convicted of involuntary manslaughter, Murray could spend four years in a California prison and lose his medical license.

Stelle das hier auch mal rein....
10 Eindrücke von der Michael-Jackson-Verhandlung
Exclusive: Find out what's been happening off-camera during Dr. Conrad Murray's involuntary manslaughter case

In the message left five days before Jackson’s death, manager Frank DiLeo asked the physician to call him.
"I’m sure you are aware he had an episode last night. He’s sick,” said DiLeo, who died earlier this year. “I think you may need to get a blood test on him. We got to see what he’s doing.”

Slurring Jackson aimed to build hospital for kids
APBy LINDA DEUTSCH - AP Special Correspondent | AP – 11 hrs ago
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Six weeks before Michael Jackson died, his doctor recorded the semi-comatose superstar mumbling what might have been his farewell address to the world.
In a slow, slurred voice, clearly under the influence of sedatives, Jackson spoke about leaving a performance legacy bigger than Elvis or The Beatles, and building a fabulous hospital for children with proceeds from his highly anticipated "This Is It" comeback concerts.
"Elvis didn't do it. Beatles didn't do it. We have to be phenomenal." Jackson is heard saying on the tape.
Jackson, known for donating huge amounts to children's charities, said his vision was driven by his love of children. In his ramblings, he envisioned the hospital would be big enough to aid a million children, with a movie theater and game room.
"That will be remembered more than my performances," he says. "My performances will be up there helping my children and always be my dream. I love them. I love them because I didn't have a childhood ... I feel their pain. I feel their hurt. I can deal with it."
The full tape of the May 10, 2009, soliloquy by Jackson was played for the first time Wednesday during the involuntary manslaughter trial of Dr. Conrad Murray. A portion of the recording was played last week during the prosecution's opening statement.
The more than four-minute audio recording was found on Murray's cell phone by forensic digital expert Stephen Marx. There was no indication why Murray made the recording.
With Murray murmuring agreement, Jackson referred to the children of the world as "angels" and said, "God wants me to do it. I'm gonna do it, Conrad."
Murray replied, "I know you would."
And, as he had done long ago with his Neverland ranch, he spoke of a place to raise children's spirits. "They're sick because they're depressed," he said.
The tape was played by prosecutors to show that Murray knew for weeks how Jackson was reacting to heavy sedatives the doctor was administering to help his patient sleep.
Toward the end of the recording, there is a period of silence before Murray asks, "You OK?"
Eight seconds pass then Jackson mumbles, "I am asleep."
Marx, an investigator with the Drug Enforcement Administration, testified Wednesday that he retrieved another recording from Murray's phone and other files that showed he was busy e-mailing, texting and handling messages about insurance for Jackson's concerts during the time the singer was believed to be under the influence of the powerful anesthetic propofol.
Authorities contend Murray gave Jackson a lethal dose of the drug and other sedatives in Jackson's bedroom on June 25, 2009. Murray's attorneys say Jackson gave himself the fatal dose.
Prosecutors claim the doctor was too distracted to give his patient adequate care and allowed him to die on his watch.
Murray has pleaded not guilty. He could face up to four years behind bars and the loss of his medical license if convicted of involuntary manslaughter.
One voicemail message left for Murray came from Jackson's late manager, Frank Dileo.
"Dr. Murray, it's Frank Dileo," he was heard saying on the June 20, 2009, voicemail. "I'm Michael's manager. I'm the short guy with no hair.
"He had an episode last night. He's sick," Dileo says. "I think you need to get a blood test on him. We 've got to see what he's doing."
In the days ahead, the jury will hear from Murray himself, though it will be through a more than two-hour interview that police conducted with the doctor two days after Jackson's death. The defense has not said whether Murray will take the stand.
In later testimony Wednesday, coroner's investigator Elissa Fleak described what she found in Jackson's bedroom hours after the singer's death. The items included prescription medications and a small, empty vial of propofol discovered by the singer's bedside.
Deputy District Attorney David Walgren held the vial between his thumb and pinky finger before showing it to Fleak and jurors on a projector.
Fleak said she and other investigators returned to Jackson's home four days later and recovered several bags from his closet that contained other bottles of propofol, including one that had been placed inside an IV bag. Some bottles were full, others were partially empty.
Authorities say the return trip was prompted by details Murray offered to detectives during the interview on June 27, 2009, that will be played for jurors in the coming days.
Walgren removed 37 bottles of propofol and other medications from evidence bags, labeled them with exhibit numbers, and placed them on the edge of the table where prosecutors sit.
By the end of the afternoon, the bottles formed two long rows on the table directly in front of jurors.
Fleak also identified a graphic photo of Jackson's lifeless body in a hospital gown that was shown on a large courtroom screen.
His brother, Jermaine Jackson, broke down and wept quietly, wiping his eyes with tissues. At the afternoon break, he left court and didn't return.
Walgren, his hands swathed in latex gloves, showed the witness and jurors 63 separate pieces of evidence from the bedroom, including what was described as medical debris stashed in three separate bags in a closet.
The items included torn packaging from IV bags, syringes and needles, catheter tubing and bloody pieces of gauze.
One small duffel bag decorated with a polka dot bow was marked, "Baby Essentials." It contained propofol, the drug Jackson referred to as his "milk."

Michael's last words...
Posted: 09:44 AM ET
For a long time, Michael Jackson was an enigma. We recall glorious moments like the first time we heard “Thriller” and "We are the World" with the same clarity as his strange behavior. Michael Jackson was also a disappointment, and unfairly so; many expected perfection from him because we saw it on stage and in his music, yet not in his personal life.
And now, through the Conrad Murray trial, we see signs of his alleged drug addiction. But yesterday we heard something from him that sent a very different message to the world: that, in his heart of hearts, he wanted to be a hero to children.
Let's let his words tell the story.
In talking about the upcoming concert, he said: "I'm taking that money, a million children, children's hospitals, the biggest in the world, Michael Jackson's Children's Hospital. Going to have a movie theater, game room… Children are depressed. They [are] in those hospitals...no game room...no movie theater...." When I hear this, I think of three words: generosity of spirit.
In this, I see that Michael Jackson’s concerts had a larger purpose. Did he need the money or the acclaim? We may never know. But this is a 50-year-old man, getting back on stage after 10- years, willing himself to perform at a level higher than almost any man 30 years his junior – and at the end of the day, he was doing this for the neediest of children.
He also said of sick children: "They're sick because they're depressed. Their mind is depressing them. I want to give them that. I care about them, them angels. God wants me to do it. I'm gonna do it... [they] Don't have enough hope. No more hope."
Hope. He seemed to be intent on transferring “hope” to the next generation. This doesn’t seem like a personal focused on self. Sure, many will say he was telling this to Dr. Murray to convince him to keep getting his "milk". But whether Michael was in the throws of addiction or not, the man behind this medicine seemed to place his desire to help children heal above all else. Witness this story, as told to me by family friend Steve Manning:
Manning says: Jackson would go to the hospital, he would go to Philadelphia City many times, go to Children's hospital, the wards. He'd happen to see something on TV. Maybe the bodyguard might tell him there was a fire a kid got burned badly or a kid needs a heart operation… he would go and pay the bill. People don't know that. There was no press. This is what some people don't know. The other side of MJ.
How many people would do that for someone else these days? That story sure woke me up to helping others.
The last statement that stood out to me was just heartbreaking, and perhaps told us more about Michael Jackson than we ever knew. He said this as he drifted off to sleep
"My performances will be there helping my children and always be my dream. I love them because I didn't have a childhood…I feel their pain.... “Heal the World”, “We are the World”, "Will You be There," "The Lost Children." These are the songs I’ve written because I hurt..."
With that, Jermaine Jackson wiped a tear from his eye. His brother was in pain. Despite all his success, accolades, even his beloved children, he never forgot the sadness and loneliness of his childhood. That kind of hurt and anger, sad to say, never went away for him.
But where my admiration lies for Michael Jackson was in his ability to turn his personal sadness into happiness for others. Can you imagine if the concert series had been a success, and this hospital was built? So many people around the world would have benefitted. So many would have been healed. And maybe, in some way, he would have healed too.
Complete courtroom coverage of the Conrad Murray trial airs live on HLN from gavel to gavel and is on In Session from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. ET every week day.

"Meine Babies ! " "Meine Kinder !" "Ich muss ihnen helfen!" "Sie brauchen Hilfe "."Ich möchte ihnen helfen!" "Ich liebe sie alle !" engelhaft wahrhaftig.
