Michael Jackson: Vocal Profile/ Range [High Tenor/ 4 Octaves]
Armed with incredible singing, dancing and performing skills, the late Michael Jackson definitely deserved the title 'The King of Pop'. His various vocal stylings, combined with the classic falsetto yelps, made him one of the most recognizable voices in the history of music.
Jackson used to be a boy soprano as a kid, but his voice lowered down to a rather dramatic high tenor as years went by. His higher range was generally very flexible and light, as he preserved his loose style even around very high pitches. However, he was also able to apply some wonderful distortion to his voice, creating a multi-timbral style that he used for different musical textures.
