Milton Verret is giving some Austin children a "thrill."

The East Texas man has been using a jacket worn by Michael Jackson in the "Thriller" music video to generate thousands of dollars for children's charities.

The jacket, signed on the sleeve by the singer who died in 2009, is earning money from corporate sponsors who are supporting the jacket's charity tour.

Austin's YNN reports that Verret wrote a $100,000 check for Superhero Kids, a charity that helps families with cancer patients. The nonprofit provides funding for non-medical expenses like transportation, basic living expenses and special educational needs.

"You see the kids sitting there with the needles in their arms, it's pretty emotional," Verret told YNN.

In June, the AP reported that Verret bought the jacket for $1.8 million.

The piece of pop culture history was sold as part of the Rock Icons auction run by Julien's Auction House, according to NME.

Jackson-Brüder legen Rechtsstreit um rote MJ-Lederjacken durch Vergleich bei

London, Nov 23 (ANI): Michael Jackson's brothers have settled with the company that they claimed to have "duped" them over sales of the pop legend's red leather jacket replicas.
The late King of Pop's three brothers Marlon, Tito and Jackie had signed 1000 of the jacket replicas worn by Michael Jackson in the 'Thriller' video.
"Marlon, Tito and I created this project as a tribute to our brother, Michael, and his fans worldwide, and we are very happy that there has been a resolution," the Telegraph quoted Jackie Jackson as saying.
The brothers claimed that Connected Internationals Sales had "duped" them out of money related to the sale of jackets, signed by the Jacksons, which were on sale for 2,350 dollars.
The original jackets were designed by Marc Laurent in 1983 and worn by the singing legend in the videos for "Beat It" and "Thriller".
The original jacket is up for sale for 1.5 million dollars.
The brothers alleged that a cheque covering their travel expenses for a promotional trip bounced, and that the company had failed to pay them the agreed fee of 100,000 dollars for the signings.
Steve Bohbot, owner of the marketing company said that he was relieved to clear up this misunderstanding.
"We have such an immense respect for the Jackson brothers and Michael's legacy and are pleased to have resolved this situation," Bohbot said.
Their lawyer said that the Jacksons are still looking forward to a successful partnership in the future with the company inspite of the commotion. (ANI)
