Gary plans 4-day Michael Jackson birthday party

Michael Jackson's hometown of Gary is getting ready to throw a birthday party for the late King of Pop.
Jackson, who died on June 25, 2009, would have turned 53 on Monday. The Times of Munster reports that the northwestern Indiana city is planning a four-day party. It will feature musical performances, a circus, food and vendors in front of Jackson's boyhood home and the Leonard Douglas Stadium at Roosevelt High School.
City spokeswoman LaLosa Burns says Gary wants to preserve the legacy of Michael Jackson and the Jackson family, which left and moved to California in 1969 after the Jackson 5 struck it big.

In einem kürzlichen Interview gestand der ex-Baywatch Star, dass sie als junges Mädchen einen riesen Crush auf Michael Jackson hatte und ihn heiraten wollte. Sie war überzeugt, dass wenn sie ihn treffen würde, er ihr einen Heiratsantrag machen würde. "Als wir uns dann trafen und er mir keinen Antrag machte, war ich am Boden zerstört", so Pam Anderson.

Six years after he accused Michael Jackson of sexually abusing him during sleepovers at the King of Pop's Neverland Ranch, Gavin Arvizo has reunited with the prosecutor who tried to nail the singer on child molestation charges.
In a twist of fate, Gavin -- a cancer survivor -- was one of the guests at the Santa Barbara, Calif., wedding of Senior Deputy District Attorney Ron Zonen to Louise Palanker, a comedian who testified against Jackson in the notorious 2005 trial.
The pair wed on October 1, four days after the involuntary manslaughter trial against Jackson's personal physician began in the Los Angeles Superior Court.

Gavin’s brother Star and journalist Diane Dimond were also guests at the low key ceremony, RadarOnline.com has exclusively learned.
Dimond battled claims that her dogged coverage of Jackson and the trial for Court TV was strident and pro-prosecution, while Star testified that he saw the pop star fondling his brother Gavin on at least two occasions.
"Beautiful and inspirational friends," Dimond wrote on Facebook, referencing the wedding photos of Zonen and Palanker.
The Arvizo brothers have rarely been seen in public since the case ended.
In 2005, after the trial ended, Palanker told the BBC that she had developed a friendship with Gavin and "no matter what happens, I will be on the phone to make sure he is okay and hoping that he can rebuild his life."
In the 2003 TV documentary, Living with Michael Jackson, Gavin was seen holding Jackson's hand and snuggling his head in his lap as he talked about sleeping in the pop star's bed.
Later, it was Zonen who told the court that "something terribly illegal" happened at Neverland.

"They rode rides, went to the zoo, ate whatever they wanted - candy, ice cream, soda pop. There was only fun," Zonen said, in a statement to the jury, according to court records. "At night, they entered into the world of the forbidden. They learned about sexuality from someone only too willing to be their teacher."
Jackson was ultimately cleared of conspiracy to commit extortion, false imprisonment and child abduction, child molestation and giving a child, Gavin, then 13, an intoxicating drink.Kommentar

Der Schlafanzug von Michael Jackson wird versteigert

Dublin. Andenken aus Michael Jacksons Zeit in Irland kommen unter den Hammer. Der Sänger, der 2009 an einer Überdosis Propofol verstarb, verbrachte 2006 mehrere Monate in Westmeath, Irland, und lebte dort in einem Anwesen namens Cooltore House. Die Zeit dort soll ihm so gut gefallen haben, dass er nach seiner Abreise sogar darüber nachgedacht haben soll, sich ein Haus in der Gegend zu kaufen.
Der Lieblings-Schlafanzug des King of Pop und das Bett in dem er während dieses Aufenthalts in Irland schlief, kommen jetzt unter den Hammer. Fans des Sängers können sich am 6. November an der Auktion beteiligen, bei der auch noch weitere Memorabilien des Stars den Besitzer wechseln sollen.
Der Superstar soll engen Freunden zufolge die "glücklichste Zeit seines Lebens" auf der grünen Insel verbracht haben. Der Auktionator Damien Matthews sagt zu der Versteigerung: "Die Verbindung zu Michael Jackson ruft auf der ganzen Welt Interesse hervor. Als Michael das Cooltore House verließ, sagte er: ‘Das ist der einzige Ort, an dem wir uns je wie eine echte Familie gefühlt haben.’ Er lebte hier ohne Sicherheitsleute oder Angestellte, nur seine drei Kinder und ihr Lehrer."
Die Einnahmen aus der Auktion sollen genutzt werden, um das Haus zu renovieren und die Einrichtung zu erneuern. Es wird davon ausgegangen, dass der Pyjama für 3.000 bis 5.000 Euro, das Bett für 5.000 bis 8.000 Euro den Besitzer wechselt.

27.10.2011: Raymone Bain verurteilt
Michael Jacksons ehemalige Pressesprecherin und General Managerin Raymone Bain wurde am Dienstag zur Zahlung von ca. USD 200'000 in Nachsteuern und einer fünfjährige Bewährungsfrist verurteilt, nachdem sie ihre Steuererklärungen für die Jahre 2006 bis 2008 nicht eingereicht hatte. Als Grund gab sie dem Richter gegenüber an, dass sie vom Tod von Michael Jackson und ihrer Mutter, die sechs Monate nach Michael gestorben war, derart überwältig war, dass sie es vergessen hatte. Die Staatsanwaltschaft hatte ursprünglich beantragt, dass Raymone Bain für eineinhalb Jahre ins Gefängnis müsse. 2009 verklagte Raymone Bain Michael Jackson auf USD 44 Mio., die er ihr gemäss ihrer Aussage für die verschiedenen Deals, die sie für Michael gehandhabt hatte, schuldete (zB. Verhandlungen um und Veröffentlichung vom Thriller 25 Album; Refinanzierung des Darlehens, um den Beatles Katalog zu sichern; Vorverhandlungen zu den This Is It Konzerten). Der MJ Estate hat Raymone Bains Klage letztes Jahr erfolgreich vor Gericht bestritten.
