Michael's statue in Best, Netherlands being taken away!! Although in Dutch an interesting video of the removal of Michael's statue, photos of which we have often featured, covered in flowers and gifts from fans, but don't worry Michael is getting a new coat of paint, a new pedestal and fence and will be returned later in the year. The McDonalds Restaurant who own the statue is also being restructured and will reopen later in the year. Maybe Marianna can give us some more info.

NEXT TO YOU

            01. AC/DC - Back In Black

            02. The Rolling Stones -Start Me Up

            03. Ozzy Osbourne -Crazy Train

            04. Scorpions - Rock You Like A Hurricane

            • OPEN LETTER TO VICTOR GUTIERREZ by Marcelo Morales Navarro

              October 20, 2012

tags: Cecilia Bolocco, Chile, Jordan Chandler, Michael Jackson, Michael Jackson Was My Lover, Ray Chandler, Victor Gutierrez
              by Vindicatemj (Helena)

Two days after Michael Jackson’s death, on June 27, 2009 Marcelo Morales Navarro from Chile wrote an Open Letter to Victor Gutierrez, the author of a pedophiliac book of lies about MJ called “Michael Jackson Was My Lover – The Secret Diary of Jordan Chandler”.
The title sounds sensational, however the problem is that the boy never had a diary and all we see in the opus is the author’s own fantasy of conversations and fictional activities between a adult and a boy which in reality never took place (at least between MJ and Chandler).
Jordan Chandler NEVER kept a diary, so all activity described in the book is the invention of Victor Gutierrez’s sick mind (or a glimpse at his own experience?)

The fact that the diary was non-existent and consequently Gutierrez invented most of the story was confirmed by the boy’s uncle Ray Chandler who was not above slandering Michael Jackson himself, but even he at some stage grew so resentful of Victor Gutierrez that called him a “sleazebag”:
              • Ray Chandler said he did not endorse that book.“Victor Gutierrez is a sleazebag,” he said.

Marcelo Morales, author of the Open Letter has similar words to describe Gutierrez with, however his letter was in Spanish and its computer translation did not reflect all the nuances of the text, so the letter had to be put aside and wait for its hour for more than three years.
This hour came when our reader [the Internet name is Aldebaranredstar] made a generous present to this blog and volunteered to translate the letter into English. Now that we’ve read it in perfect English we see that the letter is absolutely brilliant. This is why I am making a special post for it and on behalf of all Michael’s supporters would like to thank Alderanredstar very much indeed for the selfless desire to help and the great work done.
In a reply to his Chilean readers Marcelo Morales said that he had sent this open letter to all major national newspapers, but curiously only two independent newspapers - El Pardiario and El Nortero – published it. Hundreds of Victor Gutierrez’s compatriots who left their comments on the article reacted in rare unison and said that the article reflected everything they think about this parasite. Yes, a parasite is how Victor Gutierrez’s countrymen call him in almost each of their posts.
Ray Chandler: “Victor Gutierrez is a sleazebag”

The letter will hopefully be only opening the discussion of Victor Gutierrez and will be followed with other information about this sleazebag, who stood behind the 1993 allegations against Michael Jackson and whom we see as the main reason why they were made at all:
              Open Letter to Victor Gutierrez:

I suppose that you must be happy with the death of Michael Jackson; that your cell phone hasn’t stopped ringing; and that your fees for articles and interviews have increased substantially. I suppose that now you can breathe easy knowing that the plaintiff has died and the case that you lost in 1997 is closed and that the $2.7 million that you were ordered to pay after losing the suit in USA will no longer bother you.
When you said you had in your power a video that incriminated Michael Jackson in compromising circumstances and you were not able to prove its existence and you lost the case, Chilean journalism was affected, its image, its professionalism, its ethics.
              But you said:
“I declared bankruptcy and I had 10 years to come up with the money. June 07 was the deadline and after that, they can get nothing.” This strategy of letting time pass, of finding solutions that could be legal but which have nothing to do with morality, is habitual with you; it portrays the misery of your person and your lack of values, the total ignorance of living honorably, the indecency of a vulture and the immorality of a deadbeat conman throwing accusations in the air, unable to prove the truth of your statements.
Nor did you respond when in 2001 the Supreme Court of Chile sentenced you to pay $47,000 to Cecilia Bolocco for saying without any foundation that she was the lover of the Brazilian writer Paulo Coehlo. Here also you did not have the decency to pay the fine. How easy to do what you do, trash people, gain a lot of money in interviews, write books and articles full of lies and not lose anything when fines are levied against you when you lose, which has always been the case with you. How easy and how miserable is your life as a parasite. What evil you do to society.
“A journalist will not invent sources, covering them up as ‘insiders,” “an official,” etc. guarding in this manner the credibility and dignity of the profession.” (Article 8vo. Code of Ethics of Journalism).
In ‘Las Ultimas Noticias de Hoy’ [The News of the Day] you said, “Now I can negotiate the movie rights to my book, negotiations which were on hold,” “and of course programs all around the world are calling me to sell them information and even photos which I have of him when he was a child.”
What morality, Mr. Gutierrez, in continuing to negotiate, continuing to earn money at another’s cost, continuing the pursuit of money with a disgraceful agenda, even in death. You have gone beyond all the limits of decency and respect, you have gone beyond the Sixth Article of the Code of Ethics of a journalist, which says, “A journalist must always establish a clear distinction between facts, opinions, and interpretations, preventing all confusion or deliberate distortion between them.”
In 2003 when you knew the scandalous history of Claudio Spiniak YOU had no qualms in connecting Joaquin Lavin, at this time candidate for the presidency, with pedophilia, earning you once again a complaint that you could not prove your assertions with facts. You had no qualms about imagining a montage that infected a public candidate with the web of pedophilia. As always, it all ended in nothing but YOU. You waited for the waters to become calm, hiding your head like an ostrich.
This morning you said on ADN radio “Why keep talking about Michael Jackson when there are more important subjects?” And YOU said this? You who have lived and fed for years on reports and articles based on lies? You who have never had the honor to face criticism or pay what justice has imposed? How can you say there are more important topics if YOU have lived on these stories? How can you be such a miserable human being, a journalist who can reach this level of sordidness and dishonesty.
“I am not gay; my partner is gay” (VG, Revista El Periodista, 31 March 2003).
To me YOU are a despicable person, who in your known and infamous homosexuality we see sexual deviations from Pisces to Aquarius and who looks for fame and money in the worst manner; far from morality and professional ethics, committing murders of reputations and when these portraits you paint are shown in reverse, we see a faggot in the most literal of definitions.
The homosexual person is someone proper and respectable and I have nothing against that person, but to be a shit faggot like YOU I condemn it openly, and I regard as a lowlife scum one who inundates society with evil, with falsity, hypocrisy and dishonesty.
YOU will never make a real contribution as a journalist, you are merely a paparazzi who gossips about life and who is distant from ethics, decency, and values.”
Michael Jackson, thank you for your music that filled the celebrations of my youth with happiness, and for your enormous contribution to the music of the world. Rest in peace.

Michael Jackson's Personal Debts To Be Paid Off By Year's End

Michael Jackson: Nearly back in the black.

When Michael Jackson passed away in June 2009, his departure was met by the grieving of millions of fans around the world—and by a great deal of discussion and speculation over the fate of the half-billion dollars he owed to creditors ranging from big banks to “Thriller” director John Landis.

Many questions have been answered over the past three years as the King of Pop’s estate has continued to pull in nine figures on an annual basis, most recently $145 million over the past year. And according to representatives from the estate, the late singer’s personal debts will be paid off by the end of the year.

The last major non-business loan left is connected to Jackson’s Mijac Music, the entity that contains the copyrights to the songs he wrote over the course of his career. Shortly after the singer’s death, the estate started paying off a $75 million loan he had taken out against the catalog, negotiating the interest rate down from an exorbitant 15.5% to a very manageable 4%. The final payments on that loan are set to be made this fall.

It’s a major milestone for Michael Jackson’s growing postmortem business empire, especially considering where the estate began. After the singer’s death, it appeared that many of his assets were close to default, if not already there. But a handful of deals—including a $60 million advance for the concert film This Is It and a $250 million record deal with Sony, the largest in history—gave the estate the steady cash flow needed to pay off creditors.

In addition to paying down the massive loan on Mijac Music, the estate has paid $35 million owed to concert promoter AEG (in connection with Jackson’s planned This Is It tour) and the $4.1 million mortgage on the Jackson family estate in Encino, Calif. Smaller debts to individuals have been renegotiated and resolved, including an agreement with Landis, who had alleged that Jackson still owed him $2.3 million in 2009.

A substantial business loan ($280 million, by FORBES’ estimate) remains on Jackson’s 50% stake in the Sony/ATV publishing catalog. The singer shrewdly bought the entity’s precursor, ATV, for $47.5 million in 1985 after recognizing the value of the rights to songs it contained by The Beatles. Ten years later he merged the catalog with Sony’s publishing catalog after the company paid him $100 million as part of the deal, retaining half of the newly-formed combined entity for himself.

Today, the Sony/ATV catalog itself is worth somewhere in the neighborhood of $2 billion, thanks to its ownership of copyrights by The Beatles, Bob Dylan, Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga and others. The interest rate on Jackson’s loan connected to the catalog has been sliced from 5.8% to 2.9% since his death. At that low rate, paying back the loan quickly, in full, may not even be financially expedient—the company’s funds could be better utilized by buying up new, money-generating copyrights.

That said, given Jackson’s postmortem earnings prowess, the estate could probably pay off that loan fairly soon if necessary. The singer’s Immortal World Tour, a joint venture with Cirque Du Soleil, has grossed $160 million this year, making Michael Jackson the top-grossing live act in North America three years after his death. Other deals–including one with Pepsi, Jackson’s first endorsement pact in two decades–should continue to add to the estate’s coffers.

Not even John Landis could have imagined such a resurrection.

The house where Michael Jackson died is in escrow and about to close ... TMZ has learned ... and the buyer was so anxious, he's moving in weeks before escrow is scheduled to close.

The buyer is Steven Mayer, a super-rich investment banker.

Our sources say the purchase price was somewhere between $17 and $20 mil -- it was listed for nearly $24 mil.

And this is interesting ... for some reason the seller is letting Mayer move in before escrow closes -- something real estate honchos think is high risk.

Mauricio Umansky at The Agency represented Mayer and the seller of the home. We reached out to him, but haven't heard back.

At any rate, Mayer loves the crib a lot. We hope he has better luck than Michael.

A new exhibit coming to Troy University’s Rosa Parks Museum will explore the life and legacy of iconic entertainer Michael Jackson.

“MJ Obscura” by artist Amalia Amaki, a personal friend of Jackson, examines the mission and nature of Jackson’s life and career through photography and mixed-media art. The exhibit will also incorporate a variety of personal items and memorabilia from Jackson’s life.

Amaki will discuss the exhibit and her reason for creating it during a gallery talk at 11 a.m. Nov. 10, inside the museum auditorium. Admission is free and open to the public. The exhibit will be on display in the museum exhibit hall from Nov. 8 through Jan. 4.

“While a part of his intent was obviously to entertain, there is a culturally intelligent and politically astute side of Michael Jackson that has not been seriously explored,” said Georgette Norman, director of the Rosa Parks Museum. “Amaki’s body of work introduces a few basic concepts that will be elaborated on and more fully developed in subsequent artwork and a book in progress of the same title.”

Amaki is an artist, art historian, visual studies scholar, writer and film critic. She is currently a professor of art at the University of Alabama and serves as curator for the Paul R. Jones Collection, one of the world’s oldest and largest collections of African-American art.

Her photography, assemblages, and mixed-media work have been shown regionally, nationally and internationally, most recently in Paris, and is in the permanent collection of numerous institutions nationwide including the High Museum of Art, National Museum for Women in the Arts, and Museum of Fine Arts, Houston.

The exhibit hall at the Rosa Parks Museum is free and open to the public from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday. For more information on this exhibit contact museum director Georgette Norman at gmnorman@troy.edu or 334-241-8608.

Rasta Thomas’ ROCK THE BALLET
                            Starring BAD BOYS OF DANCE

                            Die neue Show 2013

Jahrhundert.

The elements of songwriting are simple to some: compose a melody, get some words together and turn it all to form. For those who are songwriters in today’s mainstream music industry, assembly line pop music doesn’t necessarily count. A majority of songwriters today write songs just to get spins on the radio; which means basic song structure consisting of easily-caught melodies and words. But then there are some songwriters who are so gifted at their craft, it’s just mind-blowing on how they come up with their particular composition in terms of structure and rhythm. Michael Jackson, the late great king of pop, was, of course, a renowned entertainer whose talent was limitless in terms of the art. But it was his knowledge of musical song structure, which further pushes his claim into the songwriting Mount Rushmore.

It’s known that Jackson’s songwriting was a strong suit of his, but he never exactly went in depth into a step-by-step guide of how he takes the composition from step one to completion. At last, and ironically, amidst a deposition in Mexico which he was being questioned for a plagiarism suit, he explained in excellent detail how he composed the song “The Girl is Mine” that was featured on the Thriller album. To keep in mind, Michael Jackson didn’t physically write music, he recorded what was in his head into a tape recorder. But never mind why he was there and what exactly he composed his music on, it was his knowledge on song construction that, to me, impressed and made me cherish the gift that he had even more. He explained in the Deposition video he could compose the bass, percussion and drums all in his head. He structured the rhythm of the slow, catchy groove of The Girl is Mine; he explained how he composed the string lines of the song, he knew exactly when the bass section of the song would change into keyboard’s bass section, and he also explained that he used “musical counter lines that could go against the main part. It could be a keyboard, it could be a flute, and it could be a string part. It’s a tapestry of sound, which is what the law of music is.”

The point that he had no formal musical composition training: besides learning from his fellow Motown label mates as a member of the Jackson 5, makes his songwriting gifts a rarity. And it’s safe to assume he was only 23 at the time of the composition, which was a prelude to the strong body of work that would originate from years to come. From the self-composed numbers of “Billie Jean”, “The Way You Make Me Feel”, “Leave Me Alone”, “Heal the World”, “Stranger in Moscow”, and “Earth Song”, the musical composition talent Michael Jackson possessed is a constant reminder of the creativity that flowed through him.

While of course, no one is exactly taught to have sounds that would be in popular music, not everyone understands the magnitude and importance of each musical instrument, the melody, structure and arrangement of a song. It should make the musical mind wonder if there are any tapes of how he exactly composed his landmark songs such as “Billie Jean” and “Earth Song” and the others I named previously. Musical Geniuses may not be born, but some come with the pre-loaded craft to mold and build. Michael Jackson’s musical IQ was a rare but brilliant ability that some musicians and classically trained musicians/singers do not possess. I’ll end with a quote from Michael Jackson about letting a song create itself:

“Don’t write the song, don’t write anything. Let the song create itself. Let the strings tell you what to do and where it should come. Let the piano tell you what chords to hit. Let the bass tell you what it should be doing.”

Grantland caught up with Denzel Washington and during their convo, the Academy-Award winning actor who is generating new Oscar buzz with his latest hit, Flight, noted that contrary to what you may see online, he’s not exactly a stickler for social media.
                                He explained:
Daniel: So when people need to get in touch with you, what happens?
Denzel: They call the house, and I check the messages when I get home.
Daniel: [Laughing.] Wow. I like that. Old-school.
                                [Denzel smiles.]
Daniel: But I did see you have a Facebook page — and it did seem like maybe that might have been you on there?
[Denzel looking at me skeptically .]
Daniel: There was a message last week: “Happy Friday, everyone, stay blessed and prosper well”?
Denzel: Nah, I don’t have a Facebook. What is it? Just people do that? Pretend to be you?
Daniel: Yeah, there was a Twitter thing, too — but just two posts — Same thing: “Hello Twitter world — Denzel”
                                Denzel: [Laughs.] Really?
Daniel: Yeah. But it’s not you.
                                Denzel: Not me!
Meanwhile, Denzel also shared a story about the time the late King of Pop rolled up to his house and ate up all their fried chicken:
Daniel: How about … Michael Jackson?
Denzel: Michael had fried chicken at my house.
                                Daniel: What was that like?
                                Denzel: That was cool.
Daniel: So you invited him to your house?
Denzel: He came over, I forget why, I think my wife had invited him, and he came over, and I was like, “He can eat!” He was going to town, man.
Daniel: What year of Michael was this? This was Bubbles-era Michael, or …
Denzel: We were in our old house, so it had to have been before ’99. We moved in ’99.
Daniel: Right, and anything that you remember other than he ate a lot?
Denzel: I just remember my kids coming downstairs and just staring at him. They were just standing there like [imitates shocked face]. I said, “Say hello,” and they go, “Hello Mr. Jackson … OK, good-bye.”
                                Daniel: [Laughs.]
Denzel: They were just like, “Michael Jackson’s in the house.”
